The Late Mrs. Margaret Safo

Mrs. Margaret Safo, widely known as Peggy Oppong has died.
The immediate past Editor of The Mirror, Mrs Margaret Safo passed on at the age of 57 after a short illness at the 37 Military Hospital on May 8, 2014.
Born on January 26, 1957 to Mr and Mrs Daniel Odame of Kwahu Mpraeso, then Miss Margaret Odame, entered the Okuapeman Secondary School at Akropong-Akwapim in 1971, and successfully completed the GCE Ordinary and Advanced Level courses in the same school, and gained admission to the University of Ghana, Legon, in 1979.
After her graduation from the University, she joined the then Graphic Corporation, now Graphic Communication Group where she started her professional media career as a national service personnel.
Under the pen name ‘Peggy Oppong’ the late Margeret Safo before her demise authored several novels which had a wide appeal among students, especially in Junior and Senior High Schools.
