Black Model Nykhor Paul Is 'Tired Of Apologizing For [Her] Blackness'

Model Nykhor Paul is fed up with the fashion world and is making her feelings known.
The South Sudanese model posted an open letter on her Instagram account Monday addressing all the "white people in the fashion world" -- specifically makeup artists -- who don't know how to work with models who have darker complexions. The 25-year-old model, who has appeared in shows for Calvin Klein and Rick Owens, blasts the particularly unprofessional makeup artists who "try to make her feel bad" about her skin color when they are unprepared with cosmetic hues that will match her skin tone. She asks, "Why do I have to bring my own makeup to a professional show when all the other white girls don't have to do anything but show up?"

We all have too much "stuff" in our wardrobe, closets and lives. Sometimes we want to throw it all away. But you can have fun and recoup a few dollars if you use eBay's platform to sell online.
If you have an email and Paypal accounts, you're already half way done. The registration and setting up of an eBay account is extremely easy and user-friendly, anyone can do it.
If you have a printer, buy a small letter scale so you can benefit by using the self-service printing labels offered by the US Postal Service. As a Paypal and eBay customer, you get discounts on the postage of your articles. And no need to go to the post office!
Pick a seller's name, cute and catchy, and you're on your way.
After you become a constant and valuable customer, eBay will give you free listings each month so you can post your articles for sale for free.
I have a few rules when selling my things:
1. Don't be deceiving.

Namibia’s First Lady makes Ghana proud

Namibian First Lady, Monica Geingos, chose a resplendent kente outfit last Friday when she hosted a gala event at the State House to honour her two predecessors, Mrs. Penehupifo Pohamba and Mrs. Kovambo Theopoldine Katjimune Nujoma.
The First Lady’s outfit was a decidedly great honour to Ghana and also underscored the very warm relations that exist between Ghana and Namibia.
It would be recalled that the last State Visit by the late President Mills was to Namibia where he was also Guest of Honour at the country’s Heroes Day celebration in August, 2011.
Namibians talk fondly of Ghana’s support during the independence struggles and post-independence reconstruction period.
There is a highly professional Ghanaian community in Namibia where the Deans of the Medical and Law Schools are Ghanaian professors. GNA

Are high heels bad for your feet?

I have one pair of high heels, and they hurt. The pain is mostly in my feet because they are forced into an unnaturally extended position with my toes bunched upwards and heel sticking up. My lower back isn’t too happy either. But who cares? I’ve joined the 78% of women who wear them almost daily, despite them causing pain, on average, after one hour and six minutes. High heels are perceived to be worth the pain because they make legs look taller, feet smaller and the body thinner.

Give me the skinny: how to read a fashion image

Fashion, this week, feels particularly unfashionable. A campaign image by Saint Laurent was banned after the Advertising Standards Agency upheld a complaint that the model, Kiki Willems, looked too thin. Their statement reads like doctors notes, the kind of thing you’d read over someone’s shoulder in a hospital lift, and feel quite faint before you looked away. It’s worth quoting at length.

13 Body Scrubs Without Microbeads, Because They Are NOT Good For The Planet

If you haven't already stopped using beauty products containing microbeads, we suggest you do so immediately. Why? Those tiny pearls made of plastic might be good for exfoliating the skin, but they are really bad for the environment.

How to keep your feet looking great when you're older

“People always say to me: ‘My feet didn’t used to look like this!’” says podiatrist Margaret Dabbs. “Well, the fact is: they didn’t. Feet go through the ageing process in exactly the same way as the face does.” My feet definitely didn’t used to look like they do now. Last week, the heels looked like a pair of old potatoes; so cracked and painful, I could barely walk in my Birkenstocks. Never mind a trip to Glamorous Nails for that must-have, quarterly pedicure (a ritual I’ve enthusiastically embraced, as I’ve got older). My beauty regime may be low-maintenance but, thankfully, I do take a bit more care of my face than my feet.
Fortunately, as last week’s #Flatgate at Cannes proved, for red carpets and running around in, more and more women are opting for comfort over heels. Thankfully, the fashion industry has embraced this idea and navigating summer is so much easier when Birkenstocks, flatforms and shoes you can actually walk in, are in vogue.

But there are a few things that'll catch up with them sooner or later if certain precautions are not taken.
We asked members of HuffPost Lifestyle's Facebook and Instagram communities to sound off on the beauty treatments they wish their husbands, fathers, friends, or sons would do more regularly.
