Numbu, Ayele evicted from 2017 Ghana's Most Beautiful Show

The Upper West Regional representative of this year's Ghana's Most Beautiful, Numbu and Greater Accra's Ayeley have been evicted from the show.
 
The two could not survive the eviction night on Sunday, September 17, 2017.
 
The two, although did not have a perfect display, impressed the audience and some judges.
 
They both took home a cash prize of GHS 1,000 and assorted products from sponsors.

#GMB2017: Upper East's Talata admitted at hospital and she needs prayers

Upper East Reggional representative at this year's Ghana's Most Beautiful competition, Akongzirigo Azitariga Atinganma Talata Helen, known in the house as Talata, has been reported sick.
 
This was announced on Facebook by organizers of the reality show, TV3 Network.
 
23-year old lady Talata is currently at the hospital receiving treatment.

She's is expected to join her colleagues at the reality house ahead of this Sunday's performance as the show enters in its fourth week on 17th September, 2017.
 
Since her admission at the hospital, Talata has been visited by several of her colleagues.

A new website, www.cssps.gov.gh has been launched by the government to enable BECE sitters who are yet to be placed in Senior High School to choose their preferred school.

2017 BECE: SHS placement website down

The website to enable 2017 BECE candidates check their placement online is down, 233livenews.com has learnt.
 
A number of BECE candidates with the hope of checking their placement on myjhsresult.net, are being greeted with an error message as the website has apparently gone down.
 
According to the error message, the site may be temporarily unavailable or too busy.
 
Candidates however, have the option of using their mobile phones to check their placement.
 
To receive details of your school placement: Text your index number + year of completion to short code 1060.
 
For instance, if you completed your exams in 2017 and your index number is 1234567890, text 123456789017 to short code 1060 on all networks. 
 
NOTE: Do not add [SPACE] between the index number and the year of exams.

Kenya: Supreme Court orders re-run of presidential election

Kenya's apex court has ordered for a re-run of the 2017 presidential election which saw Uhuru Kenyatta reelected as president.
 
According to the court, the election was marred with irregularities which harmed the vote.
 
The presidential election, which was on August 8, saw the incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta return to office with a 54% win.

However, the Raila Odinga, his main opponent, refused to accept the results from the Electoral Commission.
 
This morning, judges at the Supreme Court ruled in favour of Raila Odinga, who ask for the nullification of last month's election and called for a new poll.
 
A date is yet to be set for the presidential election.

2017 BECE: 424,092 get SHS admission

The Computerized School Selection System Placements (CSSPS) has confirmed that a total of 424,092 BECE candidates have qualified for placement into Senior High School this year.
 
The number represents 92% of the total number of candidates registered for this year's exam.
 
A total of 36,849 BECE candidates, representing 8% of the total number of candidates, however failed to get placement because they scored Grade 9 in either English or Mathematics.

Out of the 424,092 who have qualified for placement, the CSSPS has announced that 150,770 candidates could not be placed to schools of their choice.
 
They however added that those who could not be placed to school of their choice have been given a second chance to choose a school.

This is because they scored Grade 9 in either English or Mathematics.
 
The number represents 8% of the total number of candidates who sat for this year's Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
 
A total of 460,941 students wrote this year's BECE with 424,092 placed in various Senior High Schools across the country.
